Justin,
The point of being a consultant is that you *don't* carry the overhead. Basically they're trying to make you a losing partner--and get you to pay their bills without giving you a piece of the profits too. I have two ideas:
1-Suggest that if you're going to participate in the expenses, you get a percentage of the profits too. Ask for a limited partnership agreement;
2-Raise you rate to cover the amount they want for their expenses!
In any case, consult a good corporate lawyer!
