Word VBA, for many, many things. Here are just a few

- managing list numbering
- running a process on a batch of documents
- creating a list of documents based on their titles etc
- global changes too complex to do with a simple search&replace
- getting rid of unwanted hidden bookmarks that pile up when the ToC is
regenerated too often.
- converting to an HTMLhelp file
- checking whether all the abbreviations included in a document have been
listed in the glossary
