What I found interesting was that McConnell's "Code Complete" and "Rapid Development" books were the texts for a rapid code development class I took at the Oregon Institute of Technology. I started reading his books about a month after attending a seminar led by Dr. JoAnn Hackos, and after reading her book "Managing Your Documentation Projects". 

As I was reading McConnell's books I kept thinking: Dr. Hackos covered this topic and found the same results. Code Complete and Managing Your Documentation Projects are twin sons of different mothers.

In my opinion, all three books are a worthwhile read.
