No, because the engineers are almost without exception
too close to the material to remember what needs to be
explained. They have lost the perspective of ignorance.

I am a programmer-turned-tech-writer, and write about
APIs and servers to the programmer audience, and still
have to deal often with programmer/engineers who forget
to explain vital elements. They can hardly be expected
to address the end-user audience.
