TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I just took a quick look at the last 100 posts sent to the list.
Barely more than half (51 messages) either ask a question or provide any
kind of information relative to technical writing, and that includes
questions and answers about all aspects of the technical writing trade,
including salaries, agencies, job hunting & the like, as well questions on
style, wording, tools, and examples of bad work.
Most of the rest were opinions on list-etiquette as it applied to present
and past participants, or posts about lurking.
Do you think that we could boost the signal-to-noise ratio a bit, by trying
for the most part to stick to the topic?
If you agree with me that the signal to noise ratio could do to be improved,
please help achieve that by *not* responding on-list to this post! :-)
Regards
Jonathan West
