I'm about to start incurring per-minute hotel charges, so I'm not going to take the time to give a lengthy answer here. You can check the archives, where I've addressed this at length. The main issue is that there are dozens of variables that cannot be controlled for when you swap one font for another radically different one and measure the resulting readability. This sort of study might possibly be doable with Adobe Multiple Master technology and InDesign software, but I'm not aware of anyone's having done so in a careful and controlled manner.
