Thank you for responding from the other side of the pond....It sounds like
those of us who get the digest in the U.S. (West Coast, no less) have the
same issue about threads having flared up and died down again. By the time
I get to work in the morning, nearly everyone in continental Europe is
going home, and it's lunchtime on the East Coast of the U.S. (You'll notice
that didn't stop me from contributing to the perpetration of this
thread....!)
* Culture: A lot (you'd be surprised) of the threads on this list have an
American perspective. E.g. employment law, office politics, education, job
searching,
contract law, the economy, regional issues, language use, interview
techniques, etc.
* Language: English is the lingua franca of this list (if not the official
language?). Some may feel shy about their English.
* Geography: Most list activity is during the day, American time.
Continental Europe is six hours ahead of EST. When I come to work in the
morning most of
yesterday's threads have flared up and died down again (like this one,
probably).
