Decrypting, definitely.

If I encrypt a message to you, then you decrypt it to read it.
Encryption
converts plaintext to ciphertext. Decryption does the reverse.

"Unencrypted" messages are ones that haven't been encrypted.

If a third party without the key reads it, he or she is cryptanalysing
or breaking the cipher.
