Hi all,

I was wondering if there is tool to remove *all* embedded styles from HTML
tags in a group of HTML files.

I am having to deal with a situation in which I have been made responsible
for a bunch (around 800-1000) of HTML files, all of which contain a lot of
embedded styles within the tags. I am hoping to clear the mess by
associating a single external style sheet instead, and using embedded styles
only when absolutely necessary. For instance: use style info. within a tag
only when a certain paragraph is an exception to the rule.

To remove all this style info., I am currently using a tool called
Search+Replace (search a particular type of style string, replace it by
blanks). Doing so is a very painful process if the variations in embedded
style strings among documents is considerable. Its painful even when I use
regular expressions.

Please let me know if I can use a tool to make my life simpler. 80% of the
time I currently spend on this project is being spent in this mechanical
process of search and replace. Alternatively, if I am using the totally
"wrong" approach to solve the problem I am facing (once again: the problem
is to remove all the embedded styles from all tags of an HTML file) please
let me know "the right path". I do not mind doing some coding (like writing
some sort of scripts) to solve this problem.

I am on a digest, so I would be glad if you could please cc: me on your
reply.

Thank you,
Cheers,
Shreyas.
