You've pretty much covered the basics.
About the only things I would add are:
- Practice diplomacy. That doesn't have to mean being meek. It can mean holding firm while staying polite.

- Show that you can learn the product.

None of these five points is especially hard to impress with. At many companies, expectations of writers are so low that it's easy to exceed expectations.
