I'd call it "spelling out" the dollar amount.
If you're giving instructions, try something like this:
3. Spell out the amount, as in "Two hundred fifty-one dollars and seven cents"
or "Two hundred fifty-one and seven one-hundredths dollars."
If you're describing something the software does for you, try this:
3. Enter the amount next to the dollar ($) sign. EZChek automatically spells
out the amount for you on the next line of your VisiChek.
