Hi,

My question
Does the Info Mapping theory say that one document can only have one type of
information in it? Surely not.

Surely not.

Information Mapping is a technique for presenting different kinds of information, not documents. The classifications were suggestions and never meant to be exhaustive. Toye, the one who first suggested IM, wanted it to be developed further and refined. There are some who use fewer types and some who have suggested additional ones. The seven basic ones have remained as the core types. In essence, use the structure that most easily enables the transfer of information you want to impart. IM is a substitute for paragraph form for words - one thought/concept per frame. Use as many frames as necessary.
