Oh heavens, no! It does not sound to me as if Frame/WebWorks (or a
similar solution) would be very helpful at all in solving the larger
problem you described. I was answering (or trying to) the *much* smaller
question of how to deal with, for example, a registered trademark symbol
that must be superscripted in print but not in HTML. I was saying only
that this type of issue is easily solved in most true single sourcing
systems.

Okay, so now I'm confused (not news, I know) about the nature of "true single sourcing systems." Does single sourcing only mean writing in one medium and outputting in exactly two media (print and online)? Or does it mean storing a chunk of text and reusing it as needed in any medium? Umm, I guess I know the answer to that. It means the former, and the second description applies to content management systems. But of course content management systems don't really answer my needs, either.

So I guess I'm back to cobbling something together in Access and seeing how it goes, then moving up from there after I have the problem better defined.

Thanks for contributing to this discussion. You've clarified some things for me.
