Now I don't know what that last bit looks like in a regular mail client that you might be viewing it in, because I don't happen to be at home just now. But when I accessed the message through a Web interface, what I had typed as ampersand-hash-174-semicolon was rendered as the mark itself, because the cockamamie Web mail app that my ISP uses _interpreted_ a string of characters in my supposedly plain text message. Go figure.

It did the same thing with the ampersand-quot-semicolon that I typed in the following paragraph, rendering it as a quotation mark instead.

Well, anyway, now at least you know what I typed and the kind of issue I'm looking at.
