Hi Ganesh,

Yes, CVS is widely used in the IT industry. Whether a
documentation group chooses to use it depends
primarily on how many writers write or edit the same
documents. Where the risk of overwriting someone
else's work is high, you'll find CVS.

"Best practices" is nothing more than the hot buzzword
of the moment. Avoid its use at all costs!!
