Matthew asked, "Does anyone use page ranges in their index entries?"

I use ranges all the time, and I do manage them in FrameMaker without IXgen. As a user of indexes, a range clearly tells me where I will find the bulk of the info I need.

For example, in our guides, the overview chapter contains a brief description of all the features. So when people are using the index to find out how to use a specific feature, they won't turn to page 6; they'll know that's probably just a brief mention. They will instead turn to the first page of the range (XYZ Feature, 6, 112-129).

Hope that helps,

Johanne Cadorette
