My father worked on many of the manuals for the US nuclear reactors between
1966 and his death in 1985. When he died, we had to go through each of
them, because he had a bad habit of using his pay cheques for
bookmarks. Then we had to be careful to shred all of them before we put
them in the Berkeley dump.
My great grandfather was quite involved with cataloguing the iconographic
meaning behind churches with Georg Dehio, which has evolved into a major
German project called the Dehio Project.
My great great grandfather wrote a couple of major published thesis on
plant seeds and their geometric forms in relation to Plato's geometric
solids (also incorporated some of Kepler's stuff). That one surprised me
greatly, as I did not know this until after I wrote my Master's thesis
using the same info. Decided geometry interests may be genetic. ;-]
