Subject:RE: How Much Editing of Graphics Do You Do? From:"Erb, Isis" <isis -dot- erb -at- ipc -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Wed, 6 Mar 2002 14:20:43 -0500
<Bruce asked>
...how much do other people on the list edit graphics? Do you crop them?
Clean up
moires? Remove writing in the background that's incomplete? Touch up
photos? Adjust contrast and brightness? Change their sizes to emphasize
their importance or improve page breaks? Is editing of graphics part of
your production routine, or do you just insert them and forget about them?
<snip>
At my company all four of the techwriters create their own graphics - and we
are responsible for editing all screen shots we use, and editing other
writer's graphics if need be. Of the four of us only one (the lone male in
the group) is experienced with creating graphics and actually thinks
visually. Funny thing is, he is the one in the group that doesn't come from
a background in writing. . .
