Me too.

I am not trying to make light of depression. But "Anonymous" wrote to this
list asking our opinions. Based on the statements made in his/her post,
*I* think that Anonymous is making a mountain out of a molehill. And while
I do not deny that Anonymous *might* be depressed, I still think the
conditions described were not terribly drastic, so I find his/her reaction
rather extreme. To me it suggests that anonymous is a bit hypersensitive.
Or maybe genuinely suffering from depression. Tough call.

When a non-physical malady is granted "legitimacy" as a disease, it does
two things: It makes people take the problem more seriously. And it gives
*some* people an excuse for their own weaknesses and imperfections. It
isn't THEIR fault - it's the disease.

Exanple: alcoholism. It is considered a disease. But is EVERY drunk driver
SICK, or are some just *gasp* irresponsible jerks?

Maybe Anonymous is truly suffering from the medical condition known as
depression. But maybe Anonymous is a whining wimp, who is unwilling to
accept responsibility for his/her discontentment with his/her current job.

Again, tough call. Based on Anonymous's own account of the situation, I'll
go with Door Number Two. Just my opinion. I'm basing this opinion on what
Anonymous wrote, and on personalities I've encountered over the years.

And while all this may make me seem an insensitive cad, again I must point
out - Anonymous opened this topic up for discussion. Not me.

Bottom line: I think some people aren't so great at carrying their own
weight. Is it a disease, or simply room for improvement?
