Au contraire on the attorney not paying for mistakes...
In a previous life, I waited (along with my attorney, who was being paid for
her time) for the opposing attorney to show up at court. When he apologized
to HIS client for the 2 hour delay, I
told him that he should be apologizing to ME: I missed work, had to pay my
attorney to sit there, AND had to pay for child care. The attorney wrote out
a check to my attorney for her time.

A small victory.

Tech writing tie-in: All of this time was well-documented.
