In addition to one tech writing contract, I am happily "counting
inmates".
Doing statistics on offenders in the Alberta correctional system isn't
exactly tech writing, but it does add an interesting dimension to my
career history.
And because I filled a more junior position in the department several
years ago when one of the researchers was on maternity leave, to borrow
an observation from someone else, it gives me a wonderful, built-in
reference in my resume.
