There are certainly fewer positions than there have been in the past, but I
just landed one of them!

Congratulations!

Incidentally, the position was not posted anywhere, not even on the Careers
page of their web site. I got a call from their in-house recruiter who had
seen my resume on Monster.

Hmmm...guess I'll have to put my resume back on Monster. I took it off in January because the only calls I got in 6 months were for help desk positions paying $11 an hour in cities more than 1000 miles from home.
