I used to (and still do when I can get away with it) put my name and those
of the other writers and developers etc. into the screen shots in the
documentation. It's a good way of 'proving' that you actually wrote what you
say you did. And it also makes people feel good to see their names in print.

However, I was surprised a few years ago when I accepted a contract back at
the first company I had ever worked for, some 20 years previously. I was
looking through their current documentation, and found a series of examples
that all used the same example I had dreamt up in the first release of that
product. Yep, there it was, dutifully followed and updated for 20 years -
Garison Investments, Inc.
