Sales training (me...18 years sales)"

I was lucky enough to receive training in public speaking at a very
early age. In grade seven, our English teacher made us pick subjects out
of a hat and speak about them in front of the class for 60 seconds
without gesticulating or saying things like "Uhm," "Ah," or "Like."
Later in high school, we had to write and give speeches every year.
Plus, my dad always ragged on me about not talking like I had hot
potatoes in my mouth (that and getting my hair out of my face, but I
digress).

I can't begin to tell you how invaluable these simple lessons were. I
use those skills every day, whether it's expressing an idea to a
colleague, having an interview, or enjoying my hobby, doing commmunity
radio (community radio alone has netted me gigs reviewing books on t.v.
and for major publications). And not to brag -really, I'm just making a
point here ;)- but I've never not been offered a position I interviewed
for (OK, once, but then they called back and offered me another 20
minutes later, and I'm still here).

If there's one hangup to get rid of that could really improve the
quality of peoples' lives, this is the one.

Toastmasters sounds great. I'd love to know of other similar resources
to recommend.
