The last time I was job hunting, I interviewed at two companies with casual dress codes, but both managers dressed up for the interview (as did I). The last place I interviewed was here, and when invited to take off my coat when interviewing with one of the team members in an extremely stuffy conference room (that still bothers me today), I made a joke about the disastrous interview with a now-dying-very-publicly energy company that I mentioned here yesterday and declined. She laughed and I was able to make a personal connection and still remain dressed for the next interviewer (I met with at least 6 people that day).

go wrong wearing a suit. Even if the company is casual, you cannot
predict what the interviewer will wear, and you do not want to be "less
dressed" than he or she is. Regardless, it shows that you take the job
seriously.

If you find yourself overdressed, it's easy to handle possible concerns.
First, make a point of asking what the dress code is during the
interview. If they say "casual," say "thank goodness" and take off your
tie. You'll get a laugh--always good for a brownie point--and this trick
