Dear list

I've asked my colleagues, searched the Techwr-l archive, called
Adobe and visited PDFzone, but I haven't found an answer to my
question yet.

I'm looking for some kind of tool that converts an MS Word index to
pdf. More specifically, I'd like the page numbers to be clickable. I
need to convert 30 large indexes, so manually creating links with
Acrobat is not really an option.

Google came up with two tools: Compose 4.1 and Bookends
Activate, but the first one is too expensive for our budget ($900),
and the second one still requires a lot of manual work.

Does anybody here know another tool/solution?

Thanks a million,
