A free Open Source alternative is VNC:
http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/

It's a client/server app that lets you control one machine (server) from
another (client). Both client and server run on Linux, NT, 98, several
versions of Unix, Mac OS X, ... Client and server need not be the same
type of system. There's also a Java client that runs in a browser.

Most versions (not NT one) are multi-user. You can have several clients
all using the same server; everyone sees anything the other clients do.
Some people use this for meeting/whiteboard applications.

I use it on a 98 desktop to connect to my Linux servers. A friend does
a lot of remote system admin with it. His company uses mainly big Sun
servers and they have NT boxes connected to those as serial consoles.
He routinely connects with VNC from his Linux desktop to the NT boxes
in order to reconfigure various things on the Suns.
