I have been asked to do some web-based training for our
sales people.
Initially, it will be available on the Intranet, with plans
to expand it
later for resellers, technical services, and customers.

One resource that I've found helpful is a site that deals
with Computer-Based Training:

http://www.delweg.com/library/cbtwing/cbtmain.htm

I know it's not *specifically* about WBTs, but a lot of the
information is certainly applicable to developing Web-based
apps.

I've also used Qarbon's free ViewletBuilder to develop
WBTs. Viewlets are great because they can demo your product
over the Web or an intranet without any add-ins or other
special products. On top of that, Viewlet file sizes are
extremely small compared to similar authoring programs, so
downloading time is kept to a minimum. Plus, they're easy
to create--just take a couple of screenshots, add sound,
hyperlinks or other interactivity if you want it, and
you're done. Best of all, ViewletBuilder is free. Well,
free as long as you don't mind a banner ad spanning the top
of your demo. In all honesty, though, my users haven't
seemed to mind the ad.

You can see samples at Qarbon's Web site:
