Our trainers use Webex as the primary tool to deliver training to our
clients (vs. onsite training). Webex replaced Placeware about 9 months ago,
and the feedback from trainers and students has been largely positive. The
trainers must run one of our web-based apps as part of the training. The
trainers shy away from passing control to the students--we tried that
feature, but weren't very impressed. They do allow students to mark on the
screen. For example, the trainer will post a multiple-choice question and
allow everyone to place a mark by the correct answer. The interaction helps
keep the students' attention and even promotes some "class bonding."

One other thing--we use Webex in conjunction with a conference call. I'm not
sure if that's considered a standard practice for Webex.

Thanks for the info; but have you used it for training? Not demos,
meetings, and presentations, but actual training--teaching someone a task
that they did know know how to complete before.
