I'd say something like : "Navigate to
www.microsoft.com/supportbase/name_of_article.html"
Give them a specific address (if possible) or at least a starting point web
address. The more specific the information, the better.
Why? Well, if I told you to go to the White House web site, you might very
well go to whitehouse.com - a porn site - rather than whitehouse.gov - the
real one.
My 2¢,

Subject: URLs and the use of the possessive
Hello All:
I have a two-fold question.
When referring to another company's website, I believe that the correct way
to make the reference is by saying: "Go to the Microsoft Website..." vs. "Go
to Microsoft's Website..." or "Go to our Website..."
My problem is, that if I am correct in the above assumption, I need to find
this rule somewhere in print in order to prove my point. I cannot seem to
find anything in the Microsoft Manual of Style or other style guides to
support my case. I did find information regarding the possessive and
Microsoft's products, but nothing regarding URLs.
Can anyone out there help me/confirm my belief?
Thanks.
