I didn't particularly like the fact that the company that laid me off in
September saw fit to not deposit my paycheck in my bank account. They could
have figured their severance packages just as well if they'd paid me as
usual. Not only was I out of a job, but I had to wait a full week to get the
funds they paid me by paper check.
