Non-profits tend to be operated in a fundamentally different manner than a
profitable business. Many of the methods that would work in an GPO would
not work at a for-profit company. This is true of government work as
well. There are much different expectations in a government organization
vs. a commercial one.

I think the salient point is to understand the organizations where you are
applying for work and customize your resume for different kinds of
companies. You have to think about what kind of people is each company
going to want and market yourself accordingly.
