If your dad expects his students to quote extensively from the book for
reports, it would be nice of him to run it through OCR. I dunno what the
quality of the book is, but OCR seems to be pretty good at picking up text
from type. That way, the students can quote easily and accurately without
wasting time typing them in manually. If he's worried about plagiarism, go
with the image PDF.

Hello,
My dad is a college professor and he wants to scan about 20 pages from a
book to put online for his students. He was told that he should scan and
then run it through OCR and save it to a WP and then out to PDF. I would
have gone straight from the scan image to PDF. What do you think and why?

Thanks,
