For those who don't know, paperbacks also make outstanding parrot toys. They're
ideal for chewing, and for flinging off shelves - and then for hitting humans
when they bend down to pick up the results. A three foot shelf of paperbacks can
keep a parrot amused for at least five minutes - ten if the books are stacked.
Of course, parroted editions don't have much resale value at the used bookstore,
but neither do they evoke the DMCA if you happen to travel to the United States
with one.

Needless to say, ebooks have a long way to go before they beat traditional books
for these purposes.
