I was unclear. Let me make some changes to one sentence:

The idea is to look at a process from end to end. Examine each piece.
Look at that piece and see if it can be changed, altered, removed,
eliminated, rolled into something else. Hopefully, the result at the
end is that something is done faster or cheaper, or maybe the
informatin being generated during process A can be leveraged by
process B so instead of creating the information all over again, it
is shared between the two.
