A .PRN file is fine--as long as you've selected the Distiller printer
driver, it will be a Postscript file. You can either drag the .PRN file
onto an open Distiller window, or create a file association in Windows that
opens .PRN files with Distiller by default. (Handy if you use this method a
lot, which I do because in my present configuration at this job I can't
install PDFMaker -- i.e., the Adobe toolbar in Word.)

But this method won't get you bookmarks either. I believe you have to get
PDFMaker working to get those (unless you create them manually in Acrobat).

I haven't used Word 2000 <embarrassed look> but I'm sure someone else on
the list can offer some tips on that end of things.

hope that helps at least somewhat,
Christine
