I have worked with both AutoCAD and AutoCADLT. (Primarily LT) The full AutoCAD application has 3-D capability as well as 2-D. LT only has the 2-D capabilities. The GUI is slightly different between the two apps, but the command line function is the same. There are functions that aren't included in LT, otherwise the commands are the same in the full AutoCAD and in LT.

From a practical standpoint, unless you need the 3-D capabilities or are dealing with really complex 2-D drawings, AutoCADLT is more drafting power than most people need.

Hope this helps.

Since Illustration and writing are related, I thought I would attempt to ask
this question. I apologize if this is a stupid question but I am not an
AutoCAD user by any means. Here it goes:

Does AutoCAD Light use similar commands and have similar features as
AutoCAD?
