I'll confirm Bryan's opinion. Austin is bad; San Antonio is worse. I used to
get offers from Austin every month or so while I was working for a dot-bomb.
Now that I've been set free and actually decided to try the Austin market,
jobs were harder to find than in San Antonio. Now, however, since USAA let
go of a huge number of IT folks, TWs are doing everything but stand in line
outside the door of anyone who advertises for such a position. I got laid
off two months ago. I've had two interviews: one for each TW/Documentation
Specialist position advertised.
