That should be any 32-bit Windows system. Up through Windows 3.11, they
included MS Write instead, which many people preferred because it could
supposedly edit binaries (I didn't know enough to attempt such a thing in
those days).

Well, Word files save as ".doc" files. You can create a ".doc" file by
saving a file in WordPad. Your formatting options are pretty limited, but it
might work for you. You should find WordPad on any computer with Windows.
