1) Install Adobe acrobat. It will use pdfmaker.dot to add a toolbar entry
referencing the macros in pdfmakera.dot

2) Load acrobat and set your print options - stuff like downsampling images
etc. We use 3 defs - onscreen (100dpi), printed (300dpi) and press quality
(max res)

3) Load word and your doc.

4) Select File > Create Adobe PDF...

5) Select Print via distiller's printer and choose a print setting (as set
in 2).

6) Set the options on the other three tabs of the Create PDF dialog. Eg we
convert doc info and bookmarks.

7) Press Create.

Note - this is all assuming you use std paper sizes. Write for more info if
you want to use custom page sizes, word can crack a spaz if you are not
careful.
