A wise, renowned technical communications author and consultant once said in a presentation that "anthropomorphism has no place in technical writing..."

But that was yesterday; times change; language changes.
My audience anthropomorphizes when they speak about object
technology. Objects live and die, have behaviors and
responsibilities, know things. If I do not anthropomorphize
in my technical writing, I cannot communicate effectively
with my target audience.

So the old maxims remain trustworthy.
* Never say never.
* Know your audience.
Go figure, huh? ;-)

Another wisea** old biddy puttin' in her two cents!
