vague is when you work inside a range and avoid specifics. Just because
you think the range is too big - doesn't mean it then becomes a lie. >>
The lie is apparently in the eye of the beholder, then. IMHO, claiming to make "around $50,000" when you actually make $32,000 is a baldfaced lie. But I'm not the person doing the hiring. It doesn't matter if I think the "range" is too big or if you think it's too big, only the opinion of the person hiring you counts in the end.
Why bother to lie about it? Why not just give the range you *want* instead of lying about the range you were in? If you're worth it, you're worth it, and if you're not worth it, it doesn't matter how much you claim to be making right now.
BTW... in a former life, were you one of those real estate agents who would routinely push me toward houses listed at 50% more than my maximum since they were in the same "range?" ;-)
