When I left my second employer for my third, I went out and bought a boquet of
flowers for each of my writer coworkers, and for my boss. I left at 2, and was
probably back by 3, and in that time, my cubicle was completely stripped. Even
my only-worked-sometimes stapler was gone! It was quite sobering, I must admit.
:-)

Now, I telecommute 100% from my new home in South Carolina, so if I were to
leave my current employer and have some of the stuff I use disappear, I'd call
the cops! :-)
