This is probably a stock answer, but ... try www.ebay.com. I did a quick
search and returned several pages of results. Some were books on Quark, but
it looked like there were several sets of the software as well.

Does anyone know where I could begin to look for a used copy (or
never-opened, any version) of Quark XPress for the PC?

I would really like to own this tool -- because, for starters, I want to get
some contracts for indexing books that were built in Quark, using its
embedded indexing feature.

But I don't see how I can afford to pay the going price for new software --
somewhere around $800.

It's my understanding that it's OK to sell used software, as long as the
first owner deletes it from his machine. It's supposed to be one license,
one user/machine.

Thanks very much,
