Tracy says, "We lose thousands of dollars in sales every year because people
copy our materials instead of buying them"
I once wrote a manual for the HP-48G calculator. I tried to sell the manual
to HP, but they weren't interested because I was a "nobody". (Of course,
their own manual was unintelligible to my college students.)
So, I contacted a small publishing firm and we sold the manual in many
college bookstores. I one day found out that my old high school math
instructor made several copies of the book and was using them for his
classes! You should have heard his voice when I called and told him I knew
:) (No, I didn't do anything about it legally, but am sure that he was very
careful the next time he "stole" something.)
