The MS MoS has not been validated via usability studies. Apple spent money
on that kind of thing, but MS does not. There are plenty of other style
guides out there particularly since the advent of the web.

The MS MoS is also pointed at the audience that MS intends to sell to, the
information appliance crowd. For writers working on programmer tools and
such, this style guide is the wrong one to use. I don't have any
recommendations on which ones are better suited for technical enthusiast, or
early and late mainstream audiences, but MS MoS is moving away from those
audiences. Those markets are already saturated.

I don't have a team right now, so I can tell the editor, which rules I
follow and which ones I break. But, I do have to know which ones are
involved.

David
