I've got a better idea for you, go to <http://www.editpadclassic.com/> and
download EditPad Classic instead. Just unzip the editpad.exe file to your
C:\Windows or C:\Winnt folder and rename it notepad.exe. It's a small,
great replacement for NotePad and will only cost you a postcard.

Advantages include:

*no more file size limit
*the ability to open multiple documents (with convenient tabs at the top to
switch from file to file)
*search and replace features
*the ability to change print options

A while back my computer had a virus that affected the Notepad.exe
file. The only available solution I had at the time was to delete the
file completely. Is there anyway to get a new copy of Notepad without
reinstalling Windows altogether? I really don't want to do that. But
it doesn't seem to be possible to load it specifically from the
Windows CD.
