Tee hee! Happens less often lately, except with my parents' generation.
Mine is typically a variation on the theme...

Person: blank stare (sometimes varies - could be wild guesses instead of
blank stare)
Me: You know when you buy software and you get a book or online help
with it? I write that.
Person: Oo-oh! (the light goes on)
