Aside from the ethics (which shouldn't be overlooked, but which I take
for granted), telling the truth is simply easier. You have less to
remember if you're called back for a second interview.
Besides, deceiving someone is one of the worst ways to start a working
relation. You'll only look down on them or feel guilty when you deal
with them.
