My main problem with this question is that I'm always
tempted to answer honestly: "None of your damned business!"
I usually get a bit more tactful by saying something like,
"I really can't answer that question -- I know that if
someone had asked me this 5 years ago, I couldn't possibly
have predicted the new technology and skills that I
acquired during the past 5 years."
I've been saving this answer since the last time you mentioned it, and NO ONE has asked this dumb question! Maybe in the L.A. market, no one expects to see you in 5 years any more. :)
